Artistic Residencies at ZKM and MAT/CREATE UCSB

During the academy year of 2017/2018 Henrique Portovedo is artist in resident at ZKM, Karlsruhe working with Paulo Ferreira Lopes and his music for saxophone. The project include the recording of existing pieces, the creation of a new piece and the creation of a database of multiphonic permutations for alto saxophone.
Between January and April, Portovedo was visiting researcher at UCSB working closely with Clarence Barlow and Curtis Roads. This residency will bring to light a new album for saxophones and electronics and new pieces for HASGS by Rodney Duplessis and Stewart Engart.
